In the center of the Bayou, intrepid explorers willing to brave the gators will find an old pirate ship, which we call the Ghost Ship of Jean St. Here are a few “local” tips and secrets you should check out. There’s much to do an explore in New Bordeaux. We worked hard to capture the spirit and tone of the city, which serves as the backdrop to a hard-boiled crime drama focusing on Lincoln Clay, a Vietnam vet and member of the Black mob who wages war against the Italian Mafia. New Bordeaux, the fictional city in Mafia III, is based loosely on New Orleans in the late 1960s. However I will say that although the graphics aren't brilliant the voice acting and the story telling are top notch. (Although this was from the first mission so I am unaware of any later missions which are purely stealth) As I found that being stealthy and whistling to attract attention ended up just being pointless after doing a large section only to realise there was a huge clump of guys at the end which I ended up having to shoot anyway. Its just these minor things which make the game feel lack some polish seen in other games.Īlso I think that it doesn't help that the game tried to emphasis different strategies of getting missions done like through stealth or gun play (especially in the EGX trailer) however I don't think these were executed very well. This is in combination with driving feeling stiff just makes the game feel less fluid then other open world games, which especially in regards to the transport could hamper the experience as there is no fast travel. Like say for me I think that the shooting mechanics don't feel very weighty, nor the aiming accurate, plus enemies take too many bullets to kill and had pretty terrible AI. Personally I agree that Mafia 2 was better although that might not be because the game ITSELF is better, more that gaming has moved on and Mafia 3 just lacks some finesse which people expect from AAA titles now.
